A market regular come rain or lockdown – Vasco

• IN several years working in Camden Lock Market, whether it would be a busy day or quiet, there was always one certainty – that Vasco would be there with his coffee van and a smile.

Vasco is the owner of Nata 28, a Portuguese bakery and coffee business that he runs from his Vespa van in the Lock market.

He is a permanent fixture and much loved by the traders he continues to serve from his van, even in the depths of winter.

Since his business sells food, Vasco has been allowed to reopen his pitch in the East Yard, serving to the few workers that are using the surrounding offices.

As the market is predominately closed however, the mainstay of Nata 28’s business is unaware that he is setting up every morning and returning home late in the evening.

I ask the Camden public to help support these small, independent businesses as much as they can in this time of crisis, so that the character of the area is not lost forever once the world returns to some form of normality.
