‘Unspent cash’ did not go for Christmas decorations

• YOU report on the fate of the Hampstead Business Improvement District’s substantial unspent levied cash.

You are quite right to challenge vigorously, as do we, how this money has been spent after the BID ceased effectively to function.

We respect Camden’s decision, the actual administrative costs of a refund to the BID members mean a refund is financially unviable.

But it is entirely untrue that BID monies were spent on the new Christmas decorations and tree in Hampstead.

Those decorations were funded exclusively by generous local businesses and others, including the society.
