Turn the water back on

Friday, 1st May 2020

• SINCE lockdown, the water fountains and taps have been shut down in public areas including within Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill.

While this is obviously an attempt to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the chances of catching the virus off such a small surface is small.

However, not only is it an inconvenience to the general public, there are many homeless that rely on these sources of water.

Clearly, yet again, little thought has gone into the consequences of many actions to prevent the spread of the virus for the most needy across the capital.

These public taps should be made functional immediately so that they can be used for the exact reason that they were installed – to provide the public with water, whoever they might be.
