Calls to reopen Belsize fire station

• CONGRATULATIONS to Tulip Siddiq on her speeches regarding Belsize fire station and Royal Free nurses (Reopen fire station, Khan urged, June 29).

Having been in and out of intensive care last year, I know how hard the nurses worked to keep me alive.

One was in tears because I would not keep the oxygen mask on, specially made for me because it hurt so much. She made me promise to keep it on for eight hours during the night because her promotion depend on it. I relented.

You did publish my letter on Royal Free nurses and how they were treated as slaves (The Romans had slaves and slavery is still with us today, June 15).

We are delighted Tulip was re-elected and with such a good majority. She deserved it.
