Try Victorian-style blocks, not towers

Murphy’s Yard: ‘Towers will lead to strong opposition’
• THE proposals for towers of up to 18 storeys shows that Murphy is being badly advised, (‘New neighbourhood’ planned for Kentish Town site, June 24).
Towers will lead to strong opposition and bad publicity for the development. Locals do not want the skyline blighted by yet more ugly square towers. Demand will be weak.
Who really wants to buy a flat in a tower after the Grenfell, the cladding scandal and the disaster in Miami last week?
The solution is to build a gentle density development of five or six storeys. The developer should simply copy the proven appeal of Victorian mansion blocks. A perfect example is Lissenden Gardens right next door.
I predict there would be no opposition and plenty of demand, leading to a very nice profit for Murphy and a great new neighbourhood for the community.
