PREMIER potters were cueing up for silverware on Saturday night as organisers from Camden and Islington’s top pub and club competition hosted a glitzy awards presentation.

Chalk Farm Pool League members were treated to a laser show, dry ice and a DJ as they packed into the Sir Robert Peel pub in Queen’s Crescent to collect their prize money and trophies following another sensational season at the tables.

As expected hosts Peel had plenty of success to parade in front of their rivals after being crowned division one champions for the third year in a row and also capturing the Liam Tarrant Cup.

There were also individual honours for their top potters Chris Heim and Danny James, who won the singles title and the Hotshot Award respectively.

Peel landlord, Tom Boylan, will no doubt be carefully planning the lay-out for the pub’s trophy cabinet, placing the Governor’s Cup that he won proudly at the front.

Players from the Boston Arms (pictured above) in Tufnell Park also chalked up an impressive trophy haul after finishing as runners-up in both the race for the division one title and the Liam Tarrant Cup, while winning the Division One Divisional Cup. There was also success for Boston’s Roy Cooper, who retained the Seniors Trophy.

Newcomers Cousins Elite (pictured above), who are based in Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, collected their long-awaited championship trophy after running away with the division two title. Peckwater TA (pictured below) were the runners-up, while they also won the Division Two Divisional Cup.

Peckwater’s star potter and captain James Mason led from the front all season, winning the Captains Cup and the Hotshot Award, before teaming up with Dean Morgan to win the doubles title.
