Train worker in hospital after serious assault at Euston
Union says rail staff have been pandemic heroes

ARMED police rushed to Euston station was closed this morning (Thursday) after a member of rail staff was attacked on a train.
One person was taken to hospital, the British Transport Police said, adding that a suspect had been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and taken into custody.
TSSA General Secretary Manuel Cortes said:“This is a shocking incident and our entire TSSA union sends our thoughts and solidarity to those involved and their families.”
He added: “Though the full facts are yet to emerge, what happened serves as a reminder that violence on our rail network will never be tolerated. Sadly, workers on the frontline of our transport system all too often face threats to their wellbeing.”
“It is worth remembering that they have been heroes throughout the pandemic and always deserve to be free to carry out their duties without fear.”
