WANNABE professional footballers didn’t have far to look for inspiration as Crawley Town’s Rafiq Khaleel turned up pitchside at Market Road.

The 18-year-old midfielder took time out from training with the League Two side to watch his old club Camden Elite beat EFA 3-1 in the Under-10s Division of the Camden & Islington Youth League on Monday night.

Khaleel’s former coach and Elite founder Sebastian Eurico said: “Rafiq grew up in Camden and was with us for about five years. He is now working hard to carve out a career for himself within the professional game.

“He had a chat with all the young players, and told them to keep working hard in training. It was great for the boys to meet someone who, like them, is chasing his dream.”
