ONLY the red carpet was missing as Talacre Community Sports Centre in Kentish Town hosted a glitzy ceremony on Tuesday to honour the borough’s sporting heroes.
A 200-strong crowd turned up for the celebration of sporting achievement following Camden’s proud showing in the School and Community Games, the Mini Games and the London Youth Games.
Mayor Jonathan Simpson (above with Fair Play winners) and councillors Tulip Siddiq and Nash Ali were among luminaries who attended in support.
Top award winners included Highgate Harriers duo Jaziah Williams and Grace Mee who were named Most Outstanding Boy and Girl respectively.
Rosary pupil Dominic Ogbechie also won warm applause as he collected a gong for best individual display in the School Games.
There was also a special Extra Mile Award for the volunteers, coaches and teachers who went above and beyond to help Team Camden net their success.
