COACH Michael MacNeill and a team of talented young hotshots scored one of their best ever goals when they travelled to Croatia to help promote girls’ football.

A delegation from the Islington Football Development Partnership, which is managed by Aquaterra, was invited by the Varazdin county council to share their knowledge and best practice drills.

After putting together a series of successful sessions, Michael said: “There is much that we can learn from each other.

“Elements of the infrastructure and partnerships that we have developed over the past 10 years in Islington are completely new to our Croatian counterparts.

“We travelled to Croatia in the hope that we could help share our knowledge, while also providing a valuable cultural exchange for young people in both countries.”

The trip continues a run a good coverage for the Islington Football Development Partnership after FA chairman Greg Dyke recently paid a visit.
He showed up to watch their Under-10s take on a team representing Camden Sports Development and left very impressed.
