Camden Citizen’s Assembly

• IT is four months since the Camden Citizens’ Assembly took place, and what has happened since? Nothing!

This is an emergency. Camden should at very least launch its own public awareness campaign about the crisis, but there is no sign of this.

What immediate actions do Camden Council intend to take, or was holding the assembly as far as it goes?

It remains business as usual at the council, the same lack of commitment to divest from fossil fuels, the same use of pesticides, the same passing the hard work on to local community groups.

It is so frustrating that when the Conservative government is failing to address the climate crisis, our own local authority is also in a state of inaction.

Every day we delay action to reverse global heating we increase the chance we will deliver an uninhabitable world to our children, the vast majority of people on this planet, and what remains of our world’s ecology.

To help avoid a climate catastrophe Camden Council must enter emergency mode and mobilise their available resources to respond to global heating as the number one priority of council.

We want to hear what Camden is doing on a monthly basis. Come on Camden – step up.
