Chasing pack: The Lion are roaring in a race to the wire for runners-up spot

THE Lion roared to their ninth win in 12 games on Monday with a 6-3 victory over Regent’s Park Tenants Association in division two of the Chalk Farm Pool League.
With Boston Old Skool also pocketing a 5-4 win against King’s Cross Invaders, the race for the runners-up spot looks set to go down to the wire. Both teams, however, are resigned to the fact that they won’t be catching leaders King’s Cross Barbarians, who extended their lead at the top to 25 points with a 6-3 win over The Boot.
There is also a titanic tussle taking place for the runners-up spot in division one – with six points separating no fewer than five teams. King’s Cross Hawks are currently occupying second spot following their 6-3 win over the Peckwater Playboys. But the Green Man, Boston Arms, Cousins Elite and King’s Cross Hurricanes are all hot on their heels.
None of the chasing pack will be confident of catching defending champions Sir Robert Peel, who extended their lead to 23 points with a 5-4 win over Boston Arms.
