Time to return the litter of estate agent boards to their offices

‘Estate agents should take immediate action to remove their litter and waste from our streets’
• ONE might think that estate agent sign boards are a thing of the past, technology having made such eyesores redundant.
One such sign from an estate agent in Camden Town is dumped on the pavement in Baynes Street. I sent an email to the firm asking them to remove it but noted that it was still on the pavement days later.
I then telephoned them and, while they were responsive, I was aghast to be told that it could take from seven to 14 days for action to be taken. I told the firm that it is outrageous and inefficient and that I intend to walk to their offices and dump it inside or outside.
Estate agents tend to make bucket loads of money, their plush cars and personal number plates a sure indicator. They can afford to, and should, take immediate action to remove their litter and waste from our streets.
Perhaps Camden Council should, with alacrity, remove estate agent boards when they find them blocking pavements, or dumped elsewhere in the public domain, charging a high premium when they are walked into the firm’s offices to be returned.
