Three to a Pentonville cell is a breach of human rights

Pentonville prison
• I WAS dismayed to read the management of Pentonville prison has plans to increase the occupancy of the cells there from two to three men.
These Victorian cells, built in 1842, were designed for single occupancy. The prospect of three complete strangers being locked up together for 23 hours a day in such a small space, in the summer, with minimal ventilation, is surely a breach of their human rights.
