Three arrested after shooting in Clarence Gardens

A 22-year-old man along with two teenagers in custody in connection with shooting

A MAN and two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting on Saturday night, which saw four people injured.

Up to five people were reported to have shot into a party held in Clarence Gardens on the Regent’s Park Estate, just before 10.10pm.

Detectives arrested a 22-year-old man on Tuesday on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent.

This was followed on Wednesday with the arrest of two teenage boys. One, aged 16, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and robbery. He was later arrested for possession of a firearm with intent.

The second, aged 17, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. He was further arrested for possession of a firearm with intent.

All three are in custody.

The four people injured in the incident on Saturday, including a 73-year-old grandmother are recovering. A 19-year-old woman, a 17-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were also hurt.

Detective Sergeant Val John-Baptiste, of specialist crime north in the Metropolitan Police appealed for people to come forward with information.

He said: “We thoroughly investigate every shooting in London – every incident and every weapon on our streets is of great concern to us. We know that Londoners feel exactly the same, and that’s why it is vital that anyone with information shares with us what they know, either directly with police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
