Thousands of pounds wasted turning Queen’s Crescent into an obstacle course

• COUNCILLORS for Gospel Oak must have seen the thousands of people queueing for food during the pandemic. Many in Gospel Oak could not afford to eat or pay for necessities.

Camden’s reaction has been to spend thousands on turning Queen’s Crescent into an obstacle course and restrict road use in the area by installing planters and no-access signs throughout.

Many people are outraged at the waste of public money. Perhaps the council think we can eat the flowers and live in the flower pots?

This is just another incident showing how out of touch the Labour councillors are with the people they are supposed to represent.

The gentrification of the area has increased pollution as traffic now has to take huge diversions to get almost anywhere.

The market on Queen’s Crescent has had any chance for expansion choked off as space for stalls has been taken up with boxes of wood chippings.

The council are monitoring their experiments on us by installing high-level cameras throughout the market and adjacent roads.

What is the council’s message? Perhaps it is: “come to Gospel Oak and be spied on and treated like dirt”.
