Thoughts on local government innovation and citizens’ assemblies?

• IN a recent Financial Times article Professor Mariana Mazzucato returns to some to the themes she outlined in her book The Entrepreneurial State – Debunking Public vs Private Sector Myths.
It is interesting that she has taken the UN sustainable development goals as a starting point for the sort of targets we should be aiming for and that she believes that citizens’ assemblies can provide “different voices to design our future”.
As co-chair of the Camden Renewal Commission, I wonder what sort of recommendations that she might be thinking of for Camden – or local government in general – because as far as I can see her arguments are based on national governments.
Possibly there will be some suggestions about how local government can contribute to innovation and about citizens’ assemblies.
