No-entry sign near Primrose Hill Primary School

No-entry sign near Primrose Hill Primary School

• IS there a misunderstanding of how to keep the air we breathe clean, for example, by Primrose Hill Primary School?

Contractors made a lot of noise and dust from stone-cutting and fitting for a reshaped pavement and road space outside the school. A policy for “making air cleaner” has been followed and funding sought and obtained.

But was it properly researched for the best outcome? Clearly not (see picture above)! Now the road has a no-entry sign displayed 24/7 and the traffic is being diverted every day of the year.

The nearest alternative road is single-lane and traffic can come from either direction. The population in that street is double that in the displaced street.

The outcome is hold-ups, more pollution, noise, and drivers shouting at each other. It is common that a time restriction is in place in line with school start and finish only. Why not here? Camden, you ought to know!

And it is believed that the majority of children approaching the school area from the canal towpath. Could there be a direct entrance from the towpath to the school?
