They should ask us about the streatery

• SELF-publicity from the Belsize Village Business Association (BVBA) and the Conservative councillors came through my letter box this week.
Did you know: “Chief sponsor, Cllr Steve Adams worked tirelessly to support the revitalisation of Belsize Village.”? We are also told that he is working on an “urban heritage scheme” for our shop fronts.
We Belsize residents have had no consultation at any point with Cllr Adams about the revitalisation of our village where we live.
Will the councillor at long last be calling a meeting so we can hear his ideas and we can give ours?
The flier goes on to tell us that Cllr Oliver Cooper has protected a number of Belsize businesses, with the BVBA, that have been excluded from a byelaw that prohibits the conversion of shops to homes and that the oversight was fixed.
Could Cllr Cooper explain this to the residents and electorate please?
For those that remember the TV series The Prisoner, I am beginning to think councillors Adams and Cooper have this in mind and will have us all scooting around in electric golf buggies!
We are assured that the BVBA are working to fill the last empty shop in Belsize, so could we know who exactly are the BVBA and are they an elected group?
It time that the councillors and Camden Council met residents to hear their views about the public space and not ignore us for their self-publicity, sticking a flier through a door or asking folk on a sunny day in the square – who have driven in from other areas during lockdown – “is this a good idea”; which will get the response the questioner requires.
