There’s movement on the failure of the NHS ‘MOT tests’
Thursday, 21st June 2018
• THANKS to your correspondent Isolde Lawlor for her kind words about my May 31 letter concerning the failure of the NHS to police properly their “MOT-type” health check scheme, (Prevention certainly is better than pharmaceutical-company cure, June 14).
The NHS may live at a level of foolishness that none of us have ever experienced but they are not so dumb as to refrain from subscribing to a press cuttings service.
In the last few days, and thanks in part to a Freedom of Information request, they have rushed together an office to monitor and, presumably, report back on doctors’ performances concerning these health checks.
Tinyurl.com/healthchecknhsfoi will confirm this potential triumph for common sense, the editor and the readers of the New Journal.
I shall soon be onto the Office for National Statistics to ask them to publish the quarterly findings of this new NHS office. I reckon we should see the health and cost benefits within five years.
