There’s a gulf between private and council flats

Thursday, 24th March 2022

• SO Cllr Marcus Boyland thinks Cherry Court a great success, (Left and right – and the rest – join in a rare alliance to hammer Camden’s estates strategy, March 21).

Apart from it being a very ugly building, I would like to point out that the gulf between private and council flats is well highlighted here.

When these flats were built I naively thought that we would, at last, see the pavement past the council flats (between Vicars Road and Lismore Circus) resurfaced, but this did not happen.

However the pavement outside the private flats is the best paving in the area. Over the years I have tripped and fallen twice on this stretch of path, which has not been resurfaced since the turn of the century. When I contacted the council about this matter last year I was told it was not on the list.

How long do we have to wait? This is just one of many problems in this part of Gospel Oak.
