There was plenty to reclaim at the Maria Fidelis school site

Stained-glass windows in Maria Fidelis School, seen from inside the library
• I LIVE in Somers Town and when I saw demolition of the Maria Fidelis School was about to commence, (Historical gems that don’t seem to matter so much, December 6).
I went on-site and offered to arrange for the purchase of items to recycle. These include roofing slates, timbers, leaded windows, barley twist balustrades. All in good condition.
I left my details and the next thing they brought in a high-reaching munching machine and proceeded to demolish the building. I have been involved in reclamation for many years and have never seen the like before.
