There is work to be done with issues of mental health
Thursday, 31st May 2018
• I WAS really pleased to see that council leader Georgia Gould is appointing a mental health champion for Camden.
As someone who has suffered (and is still suffering) I know first-hand that attitudes towards mental health issues have improved immeasurably in recent years.
However there is still some stigma attached to it and being open about mental health problems is still seen as “brave”. There is work to be done.
In Camden, mental health provision is generally good, but there is certainly room for improvement in some areas.
I hope the council champion will do a good job in an important role and I would like to offer to help and contribute in any way I can.
