There have been Arab members of the Knesset…

• RUTH Tenne’s repeated reminder that three Arab villages near her kibbutz, in Israel, were destroyed before and during the 1948 war should be set alongside two other points, (We must not be blind to the injustice faced by Palestinians, August 16).

First, had her kibbutz been destroyed but not the Arab villages, where might she have been, to tell the tale?

There have been 81 past and present Arab members of the Knesset (Israel’s parliament), according to Wikipedia, but since the expulsion of Jews from Muslims countries such as Iraq in the 1950s there are hardly any Jews in that country or any in its parliament; likewise in many other Muslim countries.
