• DURING the last week on our small estate in Maitland Park, there has been a trio of people getting into all the blocks at various times day and night, using what can only be a fire key for access so they can use drugs, urinate, and leave a mess.

The tenants are in fear. Some of us contacted Safer Neighbourhoods police and the council; however they choose to ignore the situation.

Mobile security were rung and they turned up and just stayed sitting in their car down the road instead of actually going into the block to check. Now two lights outside the block have stopped working.

Being on the ground floor is a worry as not only is it very dark outside, due to the lack of lights, but also due to the vastly overgrown trees which the council also choose to ignore.

Anyone could be lurking outside and they would not be seen. It seems like the tenants’ safety is not important any more.
