There are empty properties here, why must I share a bedroom with my nine-year-old son?

• I HAVE been trying to get a two-bedroom property as I currently live and work in Camden and my son goes to school in this borough.

I am currently living in Rowley Way estate in a one-bedroom flat and paying full rent with my nine-year-old son. We should not be having to still share a bedroom.

On the Rowley Way estate currently there are over eight empty two plus bedroom properties which are not available to bid for and the only information the council will give me is building regulations which means nothing to me.

I believe half these empty flats are being used by druggies. I do not understand why I can’t be allocated one of these homes as I am entitled to a two-bedroom.
