The whole conservation area would be affected by any traffic changes

• HAVING lived in the area for more than 50 years, your report (Anti-traffic measures set for trial in 2022, September 16) comes as no surprise!
However the whole conservation area will be affected by any traffic changes. Chetwynd Road is busy during the rush hours but is quiet at other times.
It is a straight road with two sets of traffic lights which regulate the traffic well. To compare Chetwynd Road with Portman Square seems very odd.
Congestion charges have reduced cars venturing into London. Living at a road junction we often see large vehicles unable to get round corners, cause blocking in all directions.
The report refers to 81 per cent of residents wanting change. If they are the residents of Chetwynd Road I am not surprised. However conservation areas should be protected and preserved.
