The Town Hall seems unable to help itself

Ariel Road resident Melina Cuff and her grandson by the parking bay
• I AM not a habitual Town Hall basher, and have sometimes alienated friends by defending the local authority which does many good things for us all. But I despair at the Town Hall’s seeming inability to help itself.
The disabled parking space being kept inaccessible to ordinary locals almost a year after the disabled resident it was allocated to had died was the sort of mundane cock-up that can occur in any organisation, (The parking space nobody is allowed to use, September 1).
However instead of putting their hands up and admitting the mistake the council denied responsibility giving your reporter a load of robotic verbose nonsense about priorities and working with the community; a response of the sort I am more used to hearing from the worst type of chancers in the private sector.
If they’d have got somebody down to fix it straight away, they probably wouldn’t have had to look ridiculous in the CNJ! The council need to upgrade its Newspeak software!
