Tony Allan is presented with the Stockholm International Water Prize in 2008 by Crown Princess Victoria

• THANKS for the fine obituary of our friend Tony Allan, (Tony never lost thirst for science, Obituary, April 29).

In doing some research for a contribution to the Highgate Labour Party tribute, I found the following on the internet, including the photograph (above).

“One of the many highlights of his career was to win the prestigious Stockholm International Water Prize in 2008, presented by Crown Princess Victoria.”
