Red telephone box

Neglected K6 red telephone box on Euston Road

• I AM writing to draw attention to the continual neglect of a K6 red telephone box on Euston Road, by the pathway leading to the St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel.

Each time I see it as I head for my No 91 bus to Islington, I tend to feel sad because it is an unwholesome reflection of the bad attitude of the few that are clearly unwilling to dispose of litter in the proper way and place.

Further to that, the box also serves as a makeshift advertisement board for call-girl services; I saw at least six such cards openly attached to the window.

The telephone box also had a considerable amount of fast food packaging, old newspapers and plastic bottles piled up inside.

The length of time that this situation has been developing suggests to me that there may be a culture of complacency within whatever agency or organisation is responsible for it.

Whatever the case may be, it is clear that action is required to prevent further degradation of women and neglect of street furniture in the borough of Camden.
