The sacking of Long-Bailey will have encouraged the Israeli government to proceed with the annexation

• THE letter from three officers of the Camden Palestine Solidarity campaign in last week’s paper omitted one sentence, doubtless for the sake of brevity, (Join us in calling for sanctions on Israel, July 2).

However, it sought to make an important point – that the sacking of Rebecca Long-Bailey for a false allegation of anti-Semitism (the offending interview from actor Maxine Peake which Long-Bailey retweeted referred to Israel’s well-documented role in training and helping to militarise US police forces) will also have encouraged the Israeli government to proceed with the annexation, the delay notwithstanding.
