The royal coverage overdone

Thursday, 29th September 2022

• OFFICIAL figures are as follows: there are 67.4million British citizens according to the census; 29.2million watched the Queen’s state funeral on the television; 250,000 queued to see the coffin; less than a million came out to see procession or the hearse en route.

To me, all the media made too much of the event as more than 50 per cent of British citizens did not watch the funeral on television despite all the media extravaganza and the fact that there was a bank holiday across the country.

I did watch and I am not a monarchist. My questions is: who does the BBC represents or serve? There was too much monarchy coverage for the population of the country.
