The Oasis swimming pool before it was drained

• WELL done for highlighting the scandal of the Oasis Sports Centre indoor pool being shut for eight months, (We want a swim! June 22 and Why is the indoor pool still not in use, June 8).

A scandal? Council taxes being paid for a facility that is not open.

A scandal because for the young people of our borough a lost opportunity to learn and practice a critical life skill.

A scandal because of a wall of silence from the operators, Better/GLL.

A scandal because Camden Council show unawareness and disinterest in the contract they have with Better/GLL.

The nonsense that the borough has plenty of swimming pools expressed by the Better/GLL spokesperson in your report!

With a population (Office for National Statistics, 2018) of 262,226 there are a total of four public pools, at Swiss Cottage, Oasis and Kentish Town.
