The police should act against those racing powerful motorbikes
Thursday, 31st October 2024
• FOR some time now it has been clear that certain elements in Camden are racing powerful motorcycles late at night and into the dawn.
This is now happening most nights and going on for much, much longer, the roar of the engines suggest speeds dramatically in excess of even motorway limits.
On Monday night they appeared to be running circuits of Primrose Hill. I suggest the police take action on this.
Aside from pointing out the obvious, that sooner or later someone will be killed, quite possibly a pedestrian or other innocent bystander, this also adds to the increasing sense of lawlessness that has been allowed to develop in the borough.
Putting a stop to this should not be difficult, and permanent confiscation of the motor bikes would be an effective deterrent.
Allowing it to continue makes the police look negligent, ineffective and uninterested in protecting the public, and makes even more of a nonsense of these absurd 20mph limits we see springing up all around us.
