• I WAS astonished and dismayed to see that Camden’s planning department is recommending that the company Deliveroo, with its various kitchens, be allowed to continue to blight the lives of its neighbours in Swiss Cottage, (Betrayed by planners who say Deliveroo should stay, March 10).

The picture illustrating the letter of a marshal holding up the traffic on Finchley Road to usher delivery riders on their way says it all.

Such an essential service should, of course, be given all the privileges accorded to the other first responders – the police, the fire brigade and ambulances.

It’s only a matter of time before the old Hampstead police station is handed over to facilitating impromptu family curry evenings throughout north London.

Come snow, fire or floods, the deep-pan pizzas must get through!
