• THE other morning a guy let his golden retriever off the lead and sent it into our communal garden in Maitland Park Road, Chalk Farm, to defecate.

The owner did not even bother to pick it up, bag it, and bin it. When I shouted out of the window at the guy he laughed and just walked off. Unbelievable.

Then, to top things off, I was carrying a huge stack of recycling to the wheelie bin and ended up stepping in a pile of poop.
