‘NHS is now the Covid prevention service’

• THE headline on your front page (Alert over Omicron, December 2) begs any number of questions.

To be blunt, people fall ill of all kinds of diseases every day, some of them far more unpleasant and potentially lethal than the Omicron variant.

That, it seems, is now regarded as “normal” and not to be commented on. The NHS is now longer the National Health Service but has turned into the Covid prevention service.
