The Murphy’s Yard plan would be a threat to ambulances

Thursday, 17th February 2022

• THE Murphy’s Yard development poses a serious threat to ambulance services in Camden and Islington.

Gordon House Road is the main eastward route for ambulances going to or from the Royal Free or the ambulance station in Cressy Road.

Gordon House Road is already congested and the Murphy’s Yard development will hugely add to the traffic on it. And the road can’t be widened because of the railway bridges. Alternative routes are few and far between.

This problem needs to be solved before planning permission is given or we’ll have ambulances with ill people in them stuck in traffic jams on Gordon House Road or taking detours that double or triple their journey time.
