A VESTIBULE next to the front door of council offices in a Kentish Town back street has been turned into a temporary art gallery featuring pictures of the coast, writes Harry Taylor.

JJ Campbell, a cameraman, has turned the space in Spring Place into the Spring Up Gallery.

It will focus on a series of seascapes painted and captured by artists including Mr Campbell. A launch event took place on Thursday with 20 people celebrating in the sun.

The 68-year-old who lives in Kentish Town started talking photos in 2000 and has previously had work on show.

He said: “I was walking past it during Covid and just thought it was something that would cheer the area up, and give people something different to look at.

“I want the community to use it as well. When the council want to have it back, they will take it back but we’ve got a good deal in place. When people go into the offices it will just bring a bit of colour to people’s lives.”
