• THE headline, “Walking Away”, in the Lib Dem leaflet put through my door this week as part of the Gospel Oak ward council by-election was apparently designed to criticise Labour.

But surely the headline only seeks to emphasise the opportunism of the Lib Dems? The candidate they put up in May’s by-election walked away from Gospel Oak as soon as he could (or was perhaps dropped by the party) and the Lib Dems are putting up someone else instead.
