Kenwood Ladies’ Pond Association members protest against the housing development

• I AM so angry… once again the Kenwood Ladies’ Pond is under assault by some neighbours, (Objectors to Highgate homes plan fear cars will be driven down Heath path, July 25).

How often do we have to fight before the whole area is protected? This time a family and their developer want a housing development between Fitzroy Park and Millfield Lane.

What are the limits of selfishness? Why can’t people respect the long tradition and peace and quiet of the ladies’ pond? Is this really the only place in the world where they can think of building?

I am heartbroken that we have yet another fight on our hands. Our Kenwood Ladies’ Pond Association officers work so hard and all the lifeguards and swimmers care so much about the pond.
