The Forge in Delancey Street

• WE at the Forge have read the letter from the Delancey Street Residents’ Association (Our concern over club licence, December 28) and would like to assure them the that Forge is a well-run venue, managed by people with decades of experience in Camden running live music venues, and we certainly care about our neighbourhood also. This is evident by our monthly tea dances for local OAPs.

We would like to clarify a number of points. We are not operating a nightclub with a 3am licence, we are merely trying to sustain the venue by remaining open after the live music finishes which we haven’t done in over a year as we have been closing at 11pm.

We want the facility to open later to enhance our restaurant and allow our mature patrons to stay for a later drink after our live events.

If you look at the calendar of events and the restaurant offering you will see that we are catering for many local residents with world class acts.

We have not received complaints or been told by environmental health our venue is causing a noise nuisance. Our door is always open and we are here to help.
