Kentish Town City Farm: ‘If 400 people give £100 each then the loss has been covered’

• ACCORDING to your article, Kentish Town City Farm is losing about £40,000 a year, and is threatening to reduce staff, or even close the farm, (‘Death spiral’ warning for Kentish Town City Farm, May 2).

Are we not in one of the richest boroughs in England? If 400 people give £100 each then the loss has been covered. There are enough people in Camden who could pay £100 with ease.

With all their complaint about costs of staff, did the farm board never think of hiring a fundraiser? To a professional fundraiser, who would work on a commission basis, the sum £40,000 is trivial.
