The council’s new website could be more user-friendly

• THE web-savvy among your readers may have come across the “new” Camden Council website. I used the former version which, despite its quirks, worked reasonably well.

I tried the new one, using the search engine. “Gospel Oak Regeneration” provided no information, as did “Cindex” (the list of tenants’ and residents’ associations), and similarly “foodbanks”.

As part of it I found that the Kentish Town library was (apparently) now in Grafton Road. My attempt to find the GO housing office directed me to the central statistics office south of the river.

I previously frequently reported the location of graffiti in Gospel Oak; but if you use the search engine by putting in this word you get “no documents found” (again).

Some areas do work, but the above topics are some of the most important for many residents rather than the details of who your councillors are and which committees they are on.

I recall that the erstwhile councillor, Theo Blackwell MBE, was the councillor guru on matters digital. Perhaps he can be enticed back on a consultancy basis from his top job at the GLA to make the “new” council website more user-friendly and useful for residents.
