The council suggested I tried composting – in my flat!
Thursday, 4th February 2021
• I WOULD really like to know how Camden manages food and kitchen waste on their estates.
I live in a housing association block with no food waste facilities and take mine to a bin on another estate.
This has just been removed by Camden Council because residents were “abusing” it.
I wrote to Camden recycling and they told me I should not use any other blocks’ bin. They suggested I should try composting. In a flat!
I have not seen any other communal food waste bins and wonder how the council manages “abuse” of these, other than removing the bins and throwing the food waste in landfill?
