The council are ignoring the safety of aged residents
Thursday, 18th November 2021
• YOUR report (Woman 88, injured on wonky paving, November 11) could be repeated many times.
In Queen’s Crescent there are, near the sheltered housing block, some 72 damaged paving stones. These have been reported many times, most recently two months ago along with pictures, but to no avail.
The council and a housing association in your report argue who is responsible. Meanwhile the victim of this adds to the queues in our overstretched A&E; never mind her suffering!
To rub salt into the wounds in Queen’s Crescent the council is spending £25,000 on painting the crescent and related activities but continues to ignore safety hazards. One of our councillors has been involved but she, too, is ignored.
Obviously our aged residents’ safety and the impact on our overstretched health services is not important to the council.
