The community library is evolving as a civic hub

• ANITA Brooks is absolutely right in as much as Belsize Library was once the most delightful library and, renamed Belsize Community Library, for many in the area it still is (Philistinism! Letters, March 9).

Books are kindly donated by the locals who support the various inter-generational activities and events that take place.

Recently awarded Grade II-listed status, the library is a valued community asset, and is constantly evolving as a civic hub for the Belsize community.

Long may it continue to be a delightful library as described in Robert Ilson’s poem you published, entitled Three days.
