The CIP scrutiny panel members deserve huge credit for their work
Thursday, 24th March 2022
• COUNCILLOR Danny Beales is quoted as saying that the Community Investment Programme scrutiny panel members have “not come up with a clear alternative strategy”, (Left and right – and the rest – join in a rare alliance to hammer Camden’s estates strategy, March 21).
It is stating the obvious that the panel was not tasked with coming up with a strategy. In its terms of reference its job is to review the CIP with “a focus on the financial delivery… when compared with other delivery models…”.
The panel members should not be criticised for carrying out their agreed work. They have made a huge contribution to the discussion about the CIP and deserve huge credit for doing so.
