The cabinet member for a sustainable dog toilet?

Cllr Adam Harrison
• DOGS should be able to go about their business on Camden-owned land, says Cllr Adam Harrison, “Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden”.
I’m not quite sure how I’d recognise a dog going about “its business”. Perhaps my imagination is too vivid. Or maybe not vivid enough. Could “business” be a metaphor for something else?
Readers may be thinking that I am anti-dog. Quite the opposite. I have been a dog-owner and know the joy they bring.
In fact his comment was made in response to my call for assistance that, following his reinstating of the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) to address anti-social behaviour associated with irresponsible dog ownership, Cllr Harrison may have some ideas on how we can recover our Churchill Road estate’s green space which has been used as a dog toilet for the past 40 years.
His response was unhelpful to say the least! After pontificating at Camden’s cabinet meeting held in February this year when the order was approved, the only solution he could offer was that I should sort the matter out myself.
What is the point of the PSPO if there is no one to enforce it? One then asks what is the point of Cllr Harrison and his motley crew? What happened to Labour’s commitment to address this matter during their manifesto at last year’s local elections?
Shame on you, Cllr Harrison, “Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden”. (Perhaps the “sustainable” in your title in this instance is a reference to the dog toilet on our estate’s capacity to sustain its suitability to that purpose over a long period!)
I suggest his fellow cabinet members, Cllr Danny Beales and Cllr Meric Apak, pull out their respective fingers and address this matter with him prior to the demolition of the Churchill Road estate’s current play space for our 28 children that they expect us to replace using the said dog toilet space. This surely must happen if they are going to stand any chance at all of moving forward with their “New Homes for small Sites Programme”.
