The bus stand move was made without transparency or proper consultation
Thursday, 3rd September 2020
• THE new bus stand on Fleet Road is creating dangerous conditions.
I have witnessed and have video evidence of motorbikes resorting to driving on the pavement, just missing pedestrians, frustrated ambulances unable to pass the massed stationary buses and the buses continuously spewing poisonous diesel fumes affecting homes in the direct residential area for 24 hours a day.
There was no transparent consultation with any of the people living there. This is also a health and wellbeing issue. Camden Council’s letter, dated August 11, which was hand-delivered on August 15, arrived two days after the work had already commenced.
We have had no opportunity of voicing our objections and there has been no transparency in this matter. I am considering bringing this matter to the attention of the District Auditor as an abuse of power. And also to my MP and councillors.
